I think I am going to have to contact my local Audi Dealer to get it checked over but wondered if any of the fantastic Audi owners on here have had any experience of this? Adrian76Apr 9, It sounds like it predicted a collision, could have been the camera got confused or mistook a parked car as a collision risk? There was no other vehicles on the road at the time, however thinking about it, it was on a 90 degree turn with glass fronted shop window, do you think it could have been the reflection of itself that caused this?
Sadly Audi Pre-Sense is a fault in it's own right - unpredictable actions are a feature, if there was a way of disabling it using OBD11 I'd do it. Mine rarely gives false responses but I do have it set to late. Personally I feel Audi should not give us the ability to turn it off at all. It is a car and life saver So if setting it to late has made the system ok, how can that be deduced as being a fault when the system is doing what it is designed to do? There is no fault, maybe surprises, but technically no fault at all Mine has gone off several times also, the garage told me that anything could trigger it including leaves if it's windy.
On one route to my house, there is a tree almost in the road which sets the pre sense off every time. If I go that way, I have to turn it off. It is a huge shock when it happens to you though, I gave the guy a scare behind me once when it happened. If he hadn't reacted quickly enough and smalled his own brakes on, I'm not sure where I'd sit liability wise?!?!?!

CandellApr 10, Headzup likes this. I have the warning come on now and again but at no stage has the car applied the brakes itself. I just have a beep and a warning notice on the dashboard. Quite, if the system feels you are in control it will only ping as a warning. The only time I have experienced any braking was when I stupidly hurtled around a blind bend at silly speeds only to have stationary cars yards in front. The system performed as it should, applied the brakes immediately and tightened my seat belt.
In that instance it was a car saver with no drama. If you are hit from behind because they guy is too close then it is obvious who is at fault. If all cars had this system then there would be no problem and I have no doubt that when they become mandatory this will be a life saver SMI77Apr 11, Wippers likes this.
Obviously presence is a matter of opinion and for my driving it is fine. Perhaps for those who enjoy a more 'spirited' drive then maybe not. But then however I seem to drive I get very few false reactions from it, only the time when it protected me from rear ending other vehicles, thus protecting myself, my car, other cars and their occupants. All of the versions of the new models include the safety system Audi pre sense city as standard equipment. If there is the threat of a collision, the driver receives a series of warnings, and if necessary the car starts to apply the brakes fully.
The optional Audi pre sense basic works with information from a variety of different vehicle systems. Once it detects unstable driving conditions, it initiates preventive measures to protect the occupants.Pink panther melodica notes
The front seat belts are electrically tightened, and the windows and sunroof are closed. The hazard lights are also activated. If a collision cannot be prevented and an accident is inevitable, the multicollision brake assist system supports the driver with controlled application of the brakes. This can help to prevent the car from skidding, which prevents further collisions. It analyses driver behavior and issues a warning when it detects that the driver is becoming inattentive.

Since 1st Septembercertain new vehicles are already being type-approved according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure WLTPa more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions. Owing to the more realistic test conditions, the fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions measured according to the WLTP will, in many cases, be higher than those measured according to the NEDC.
Therefore, the usage of CO 2 emission values measured according to WLTP for vehicle taxation from 1st September on can cause changes in this regards as well. We are currently still required by law to state the NEDC figures. It is possible to specify the WLTP figures voluntarily in addition until such time as this is required by law.
In cases where the NEDC figures are specified as value ranges, these do not refer to a particular individual vehicle and do not constitute part of the sales offering. They are intended exclusively as a means of comparison between different vehicle types. Additional equipment and accessories e. We are using cookies for a better user experience. I accept. My first thought was to speed dial Audi Assist but after giving my heart rate a moment or two to drop below bpm I thought it might be wise to consult my owners manual when I got home. Thank goodness I did, apparently this was my first experience of the Audi pre-sense feature kicking in. There was no automatic breaking or seat belt tension, just the warning chime and the blooming big red triangle. I'd love to know why this happened as there was no obvious hazard in sight to warrant activating the system.
Is there any way to deactivate or to alter the sensitivity of this feature through the MMI? I don't think the old ticker could stand another episode like this one!
BellasdadMar 6, Thundercliffe81 likes this. I've heard a few stories of it on the Mk7 Golf being a real life-saver in stop-start traffic. Not sure on the sensitivity though and I'm guessing it's not adjustable although on the Golf you could turn it off Maybe it thought you were going too fast in the approach and as it couldn't sense you on the brake it activated?

Greg Goulding and Bellasdad like this.Audi pre sense plus is a safety system that attempts to reduce the number of accidents, or at least reduce their severity if they do occur.
The pre sense system uses a video camera near the interior mirror and radar sensors on the front and rear of the vehicle to monitor the road. Under extreme situations the system prepares the car for an accident by tensioning the front seat belts and closing the sunroof and windows.
When the pre sense front system detects a potential accident the Audi braking guard warns the driver and increases braking force if necessary. The pre sense rear system monitors the space behind the vehicle, and if it detects that a collision is imminent it will move the seats into the position safest for a rear-end collision and inflate the pneumatic seat side sections, if equipped.
Pre sense plus is triggered when a collision is unavoidable and activates the Audi braking guard in order to reduce the impact as much as possible.Goa tour operators in pune

We dig it. The e-tron Sportback uses the same battery and powertrain as the e-tron SUV, but as it's more aerodynamics drag coefficient of 0.
The high separating edge of the Sportback minimizes swirl in the air flow in this area, which ultimately also benefits consumption. Roughly 10 kilometers 6. Based on the S line exterior, it also includes the virtual exterior mirrors, attachments finished in an aluminum look, exclusive inch wheels, orange brake calipers, and the panoramic glass sunroof.
The interior offers a choice between the interior design selection, supplemented with customized contour seats with exclusive Monaco gray seat covers in Valcona leather, and the S line interior with sport seats also in Valcona leather.
Its digital matrix LED headlights are a new feature now available for the first time in a mass-production vehicle. Their light is broken down into tiny pixels and can be controlled with exceptional precision. This makes safe lane centering easier on narrow stretches of road and shows the position of the vehicle in the lane. The lower edge of the third side window rises towards the rear—a typical Sportback feature.
The largely enclosed Singleframe with its vertical struts is presented in a light platinum gray—a specific identifying feature of the e-tron models. In the lower area of the matrix LED headlights, four horizontal segments create the e-tron -specific signature in the daytime running lights.
This is taken up at numerous points on the model and interpreted in three dimensions, for example, on the striking side sills. The designers also varied the signature at the broad diffuser, drawing attention to the absence of exhaust tailpipes. A light strip connects the LED lights to one another.
The logo on the electric charging flap features the eye-catching high-voltage signal color orange, which can also be applied to the brake calipers on request. The wheel arch trims and sills are finished in matt anthracite as standard to underscore the off-road look. The same applies to the underbody protection, the diffuser, and the door sills, all of which are painted black.
In the exterior line advanced, the attachments are finished in a contrasting gray or, as an option, in the body color. The underbody projection and diffuser then feature a matt silver tone. It is equipped as standard with inch wheels and sport air suspension. The more distinctively contoured bumper is flanked by more expressive air curtains, which improve the air flow.
They extend below the headlights, thereby creating a dynamic appearance even from a distance. At the rear end, the spoiler fitted as standard as well as a striking diffuser that extends across the entire vehicle width contribute to the outstanding vehicle aerodynamics.
In contrast to the basic model, the attachments on the S line exterior are painted in the exterior body color — including the wheel arch trims, door sills, bumpers and exterior mirrors. Audi also offers the black styling package that accentuates the area of the Singleframe, the side windows, and the bumper.
The exterior mirror housings are also available in black as an option. The optional virtual exterior mirrors, whose wing-shaped supports integrate small cameras, represent yet another efficiency factor.
The captured images appear on high-contrast OLED displays in the transition between the instrument panel and the door. If the driver moves their finger toward the surface of the touch display, symbols are activated with which the driver can reposition the image.
In addition, the mirrors adjust automatically to three driving situations: On the highway as well as during turning and parking maneuvers, they provide optimum visibility for each scenario. The aerodynamic refinement also extends to areas hidden from view. Among others, these include the controllable air intake with channels for cooling the front brakes, the aero wheels, and the fully lined underbody including the aluminum plate to protect the high-voltage battery.
With the digital matrix LED headlights as top-of-the range equipment, Audi presents a worldwide first in a production vehicle: Broken down into minute pixels, their light can illuminate the road in high resolution.
The design is based on a technology abbreviated as DMD digital micromirror device and is also used in many video projectors. At its heart is a small chip containing one million micromirrors, each of whose edge length measures just a few hundredths of a millimeter.
